Red Deer regional report June 21st

7 people were in attendance. We watched the rolling storm clouds cautiously as we headed out from the pine lake store on foot. Many oysters were found more than anyone could hope for! The aspen trees were handing them over in huge chunks! From there we drove a few miles and entered the Stone house ACA site. A large beaver damn provided still more oysters! Other finds were 2 leccinum insigne, a lovely cluster of Coprinopsis atramentaria (is this the right name?) just melting into black goo, and an agaricus which of course lead to a discussion on how they can be harder to ID than you’d think!
Much fun was had by all even if the lightening and thunder shut us down early! Looking forward to the next one already.

Thank you for your update on the Red Deer Foray. It is really nice to hear that there were indeed oyster mushrooms to be found. Good job Candice.
