ProjectsThe Alberta Mycological Society initiated several major projects in 2004, which are designed to bring attention to the diversity and roles of fungi in our ecosystems to the public. These projects are ongoing and are financially supported by the Alberta Mycological Society and grants from non-governmental organizations and provincial government departments. "PICK A WILD MUSHROOM, ALBERTA!" This project is partially funded by grants from the Alberta Conservation Association and Alberta Community Development (Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation) . FUNGAL DATABASE This project is partially funded by grants from the Alberta Conservation Association. Please check the DATABASE button on the Home page. We are currently in the process of finalizing the Common Names of the Fungi. When the list is complete it will be incorporated into the Database. Click here for the tenporary list. If you have any suggerstions please send them to Martin Osis 2009 PHOTO CONTEST Entry fees are as follows: $5 for the first image and $1 for each additional image. Please make your cheque or money order payable to the Alberta Mycological Society (see mailing address under "Membership"). Prizes will be awarded for the best three images in each of the three categories. If you have any questions about this project, please contact Martin Osis for further details.
